Scotland Yard in Polish is "Szkocki Dziedziniec". The name Scotland Yard comes from the name of the street where the police station was from 1829 to 1890 and from the name of the palace, which was the seat of the kings of Scotland during their stay in England.๐ The current Police headquarters is located on Victoria Street in the Westminster district. I'd like to see that! ๐

The popular name of London police (Metropolitan Police Service) is taken from its main accommodation where it was located - at Scotland Yard Street. Apporently in XI and XII centuries it was residence of Scotish Kings and was recognized as Scotland. Many centuries later, in XVII century, building and yard had name Whitehall Place and was lived by Sir Christopher Wren - architect who had big stake in rebuilding London after big fire in 1666 year. Whitehall Place was next to Big Scotland Yard judge. Nowadays Police Metropolian Service is located at Victoria Street, 450 meters from Westmister Palace. However, Scotland Yard isn’t only place and police, it’s a game, too. In this game police team (2-5 players) have to find Mr X who is one of the players. We have there map of London with underground, buses and taxis lines marked. It was made by Manfred Burggraf, Dorothy Garrels, Fritz Ifland, Werner Scheerer, Werner H. Schlegel and Wolf Hörmann. The game was first emited in 1983. One player controls Mr X, criminal, whose location is known by the rest of players by some turns. The rest of players control detectives, who have to catch Mr X. Detectives win when they catch Mr X in 24 aurochs. If they don’t catch him by this time, Mr X wins. In this game can play 3-6 players.

Scotland Yard is a very popular police station. The name comes from the name of street where the police station was from 1829 to 1890. Currently, Metropolitan Police is located on Victoria Street in the Westminster district, near the Palace of Westminster. Long ago ,it was was residence of Scotish Kings. It isn't an ordinary police station. You can also play the game there. As a group ,you must catch a criminal. You have only twenty four turns for this. This game must be very interesting.
