CUTTY SARK
In the photo there's a huge clipper ship called Cutty Sark. It was built in Scotland in 1869 for Jock Willis Line.
His destiny was transporting tea from China, and because of its speed and appearance it was the most popular ship in UK. The maximum logged speed for Cutty Sark was 17.5 knots. For example this ship swam from London to Sydney in less than three months.
Cutty Sark changed its name and owner twice. Other names: ,,Ferreira" and ,,Marie Di Amparo". The name ,,Cutty Sark" comes from the Robert's Burns poem and means "short shirt".
This ship is after many passages, including a fire and two World Wars but it's still available for tourists. Cutty Sark was preserved as a museum ship, and has since become a popular tourist attraction, and part of the National Historic Fleet. It's located near the centre of Greenwich, in south-east London, close aboard the National Martime Museum, and Greenwich Park.

Cutty Sark
The Cutty Sark is a 19th-century clipper, a slim and very fast sailing ship. Stands in a dry dock at the Greenwich Quay as a museum ship. It was built in Scotland in 1869. It was used to transport tea from China, which is why it is called a tea clipper. At that time, it was the fastest clipper, capable of sailing around 650 km per day. The name Cutty Sark was taken from a poem by Robert Burns, in which a drunk hero, seeing a witch dancing in a shirt that is too short, shouts "Well done, Cutty-sark", which means a short shirt.
